Jump for Jazz
A Day of Workshops, Demonstrations, and Performances
Jump for Jazz is a one-time music education event to take place on Sunday, June 28th, 2015, 11 am – 10 pm at the Dairy Center for the Arts, Boulder, Colorado. It will include free concurrent educational sessions during the day and a ticketed evening jazz concert.
The purpose of this event is to educate the public in general and youth in particular about the many varieties of jazz and how each is created and performed. We will be publicizing locally and reaching out in particular to the youth population in our efforts.
The Jump for Jazz Organizing Committee plans to use two theaters at the Dairy, and offer two concurrent hour-long workshops throughout the day, each focusing on a different type of jazz. Each session will have several musicians who explain how their genre of jazz is created and executed.
The day will start at 11 am and end at 10 pm. The final event of the day will be a concert in the performance space, exhibiting each of the genres that were offered in the daytime sessions and maybe a crossover of all of them. Whereas the daytime workshop sessions will be free, the evening concert starting at 7pm will be a ticketed event.
Jump for Jazz holds 501c3 non-profit status. All gifts to Jump for Jazz are tax-deductible. Where a business or organization is making a donation of $250 or more, we will include your logo as well. In addition to local donations and fundraising efforts, we are also working toward getting grants and fiscal sponsorship from the Boulder County Arts Alliance (BCAA).
Please make checks payable to Our Musical Heritage, memo line, Jump for Jazz and mail to:

Boulder County has incredible musical jazz talent but not enough
is known about jazz, and this event will offer the public a chance to
learn about the many genres within jazz, including exciting Brazilian and Latin jazz styles.
